What Do I Do if I Have Storm Damage to my Roof?

It's the season of unpredictable weather. There have already been some major hail storms in the areas we serve - especially in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, and throughout Ohio. Here are some tips on what to do when you experience storm damage to your roof.

Filing an Insurance Claim:

 1. LOCATE YOUR POLICY

Locate your homeowners insurance and policy number.

            Insurance Company

            Policy Number

            Claim Number (write it down)

2. FILE YOUR CLAIM

Place a phone call to your insurance agent to receive specific details of your policy and correct filing procedure. You may choose to file your claim online, by visiting your Insurance company’s website. Use the space above to write you claim number.

3. MEET WITH YOUR AGENT AND OUR SALES REPRESENTATIVE

After your claim has been filed you will receive a phone call within 24-48   hours to schedule an appointment with your insurance claim adjuster. At this point in the claim process please give your insurance adjuster your Sales Representative’s contact information to avoid scheduling conflicts. It is in your best interest to have your Sales Representative present, as they will make sure you receive everything you are entitled to.

4. INSURANCE ADJUSTER ITEMIZES THE DETAILS OF YOUR JOB

Once your Sales Representative and Insurance adjuster have an agreement on the scope of work that needs to be restored at your home, your claim is now approved. Your insurance adjuster will issue paper work that itemizes the work that needs to be completed for your project. Have your Sales Representative review the paper work before accepting your insurance agreement to ensure accuracy of the insurance estimate.

5. YOUR INSURANCE CHECK IS ISSUED

Your insurance company will now issue a check for work to be performed. This check is often made out to yourself and your mortgage company. Your Sales Representative can help you through the correct procedure of endorsement by your mortgage company.

WHY CHOOSE KAISER FOR YOUR STORM DAMAGE REPAIRS?

At Kaiser Siding and Roofing we specialize in Storm restoration. We will take the time to thoroughly inspect your roof, siding, gutters, and soft metal, (window wraps, etc) for signs of visible storm damage, at no cost to you.

Often storm damage is not visible to the naked eye. This is where your trained sales representative is there to help. If we do find storm damage we will guide you through the insurance claim process. This will include negotiating the correct scope of work entitled to you. After the agreed scope of work, Kaiser Siding and Roofing will expertly install your new products for the amount stated by your insurance carrier. If your roof is damage there are a lot of options that you have, and if you decide shrewdly and replace your roof and it does not go beyond the cost of a new roof last for a long period.

This is a worthwhile post. There are people that call me with a leaking roof that haven't contacted their insurance companies yet.

I need to write something similar for my own blog. Thanks for sharing with us.
