1. What is a three tab shingle?

A three tab shingle is a 3-foot strip shingle with three individual one-foot tabs. This is the lightest weight of shingle and normally the cheapest type of shingle. Three tab shingles come in year values of 20yr, 25yr and 30yr.

2. What is a laminate shingle or architectural shingle?

A laminated or architectural shingles are made up of two pieces of strip shingles laminated together. It is twice as thick as a strip shingle and gives a three-dimensional look when applied to the roof. All laminate shingles now have a lifetime warranty.
