Spring storms can fill up your gutters with debris and then possibly cause water damage to parts of your home, including the siding, if the water overflows from your gutters. If unchecked, water can leak in and cause damage to your foundation.

As many things in life, prevention is the best course of action!

New TitleHere are three simple tips for Spring gutter maintenance to protect your home this Spring!

1. Check for Damage

The best way to check for damage is to clear your gutters of any leaves or debris. It will create a clear pathway for the rain to flow and direct away from your home which will protect your home from any possible water damage. This gives you the opportunity to check for any damage…
What are you looking for in gutters and downspouts? Rust, loose screws, sagging gutters or gutters that are pulling away from the home. Once you have taken note of any problems, make a note to check again in 6 months and then assess the damage.

2. Repair the Damage

It is important to take action and repair any damage located. For example, a loose screw may not seem important but could cause your gutter to come loose and overflow later. If the repairs are larger issues than a loose screw, we suggest you call a specialist. They will also be able to see if you missed anything.

3. Find the Right Gutter Guards

The best way to protect your gutters this Spring is to install gutter guards. There are different types of gutter guards. Screen mesh and drop in are a couple examples. We can help you decide what is best for your home.
